Who are we?

The Graduate Student Association of The Catholic University of America is dedicated to the academic, cultural, and professional development of all graduate students enrolled at Catholic University.

As the official voice of graduate students, the Graduate Student Association (GSA) responds to the needs and concerns of the graduate community and strives to improve the quality of education and life at the university, acting fully within the university's mission statement and governing documents.

What do we do?

Represent your interests.

The GSA represents all graduate students here at CatholicU. All graduate students are welcome at GSA meetings as members of the GSA. There we deliberate about the needs and interests of the graduate student body: how to best serve YOU.

The Senate represents GSA members individually and collectively in all matters pertaining to the graduate student body. The Senate serves as a liaison between its members and the community, faculty, administration, and other student groups. Each department or school sends its own senator(s).

The Executive Committee is elected by the members of the GSA and consists of the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and an Academic Senator. The Executive Committee appoints the Executive Council, which consists of the Parliamentarian, Social Coordinator, Lectures Coordinator, Conferences Coordinator, and Public Relations Director.

For more information on where to find us, please see the meeting schedule and contact information in the righthand sidebar.

Provide new experiences.

The GSA sponsors many events throughout the semester which are available to members free of charge. These outings give students an opportunity to relax, unwind, and foster community. Past events have included local theater productions, sports games, cocktail classes, axe-throwing, and more.

For more information on how to reserve a ticket for one of our events, see here.

Promote your research.

The GSA offers financial assistance to help members make connections with senior scholars, pursue their own research, and present their findings. To host a lecture, apply for conference support, or learn more about our dissertation/research reimbursement grant, see here
