President's Message

Dear Fellow Graduate Students,

Thank you for visiting the Graduate Student Association’s (GSA) webpage. Our mission is to enrich the lives of the graduate students at Catholic University through a variety of core services and partnerships. Our three primary methods are: Providing funds for conference attendance and presentation; providing support for bringing outside guests and lecturers to our campus; and organizing events for cultural enrichment and fellowship.

In addition to our core services, the GSA partners with many on-campus offices, such as Campus Ministry, The Center for Academic Success, The Writing Center and Career Services to provide an array of professional and spiritual development opportunities. With the consultation of the GSA Senate, the GSA advocates for the interests of graduate students and ensures that CUA remains a vibrant home for graduate study.

When you attend a conference, use a student lounge, study area or the lockers in the library, attend Crabfest or another event, invite a lecturer or attend a seminar on pedagogy, publishing or job-seeking, you take advantage of your membership in the Graduate Student Association. All enrolled CUA graduate students are eligible for membership.

Welcome back for the 2013-2014 school year! We are looking forward to serving you!

Best wishes,
John Mickey
President, Graduate Student Association 2013-2014
